The main event of any wedding is the ceremony
The civil ceremony will be held with the participation of the official representative of the public authorities of Cyprus, which will announce the newlyweds as husband and wife and present the marriage certificate.
This can be a grand wedding with many guests, a modest ceremony for a close circle of friends, or perhaps an intimate and unforgettable celebration for two. Anything is possible in Cyprus where all the necessary infrastructure is available – first class hotels, beautiful photos, many romantic settings, great wine and a mild climate and, of course, the time-tested service from Cyprus Inform!
Cyprus is a stunningly beautiful country with many scenic spots suitable for weddings.
Whether you choose a registry office or something totally unique, we will offer you choices for your ceremony to cater to every taste!
All you have to do is decide where the wedding of your dreams will take place!

Wedding ceremony in Cyprus
Cyprus is one of the ancient centres of orthodoxy. Here are the unique temples and monasteries that hold the greatest shrines of the Orthodox world.
A wedding in Cyprus can be an important event for those of the faith, giving a lifetime of joy and beautiful memories. Even for those deciding to get married later in life, a wedding in the quiet of the temple mountain, alone with nature, can be the perfect setting.
The Orthodox priest conducts the ceremony, and you will become husband and wife in the sight of God and the people. Note that the Orthodox Church of Cyprus and the Russian Orthodox Church are in communion, so any ceremony conducted by a Cypriot priest will be recognised by the Russian church.
The Orthodox catechism gives the following definition of the sacraments:
“Marriage is the Sacrament, when in the presence of the priest and at the church, after the bride’s and groom’s free promises and vows of mutual fidelity, their conjugal union is blessed in the way of the spiritual union of Christ with the Church, and requested is the grace of pure unanimity to the blessed birth and the Christian education of children”.
