The spokesman of the water Department Mr. Andreas Manoli stated that regardless of recent rains, the water dams around Cyprus are only 30% full. This is 24 million cubic meters less than last year.
The government official also added that rains, which are forecasted for this week will not, unfortunately, ameliorate the situation much.
The department is not planning to restrict the water supply to the public yet.
