Near the Bozbourun peninsula, near the Greek Dodekanes islands, the Turkish underwater explorers have discovered a part of unique terracotta sculpture.
Possibly the statue, which sunk during a ship wreck, depicts a Cypriot goddess. The finding, which is 60 cm was found at the depth of 43 m and its approximate age is 2700 years.
Several amphorae and ceramic tiles were also discovered near the statue, which are dated 7th century B.C.
It has already been confirmed that the items were crafted in Cyprus.
