Ankara has released a report regarding the plans to start the exploration of natural resources within Cyprus Exclusive Economic Zone. Turkey has announced through NAVTEX country’s intentions to start drilling a section from Paphos to Kyrenia.
Three days earlier Turkey has also informed about conducting of new military exercises off the coast of Kyrenia.
As reported earlier, another Turkish vessel Barbaros has already started seismological research in Famagusta area.
The Minister of Finance and Energy of self-proclaimed Republic of Northern Cyprus Sunat Atun said that drilling and explorations works are carried out as part of the energy sector development agreement with Turkey.
The research is expected to be finalized by June this year.
