The University of Cyprus achieved 228th place among the “Greenest” universities across the globe. The first place was awarded to the the California University in Davis, which is followed by the University of Nottingham.
The rating of Universities from 74 countries was published based on the data collected during the year 2016. The rating were awarded on the following criteria: the environment and infrastructure, energy consumption and climate change, waste management, water supply, transport and education.
The Dean of the University of Cyprus Mr. Constantinos Christofides has greatly appreciated this achievement, because it signifies “the proof of the excellent work done by the students, teaching staff, supporting staff, as well as ecological efficiency of the University”.
