Police plans to enforce the speed limits across the island more stringently. The Head of the Police Giannakis Charalambous warned the drivers of Cyprus that during the upcoming week, the police will be monitoring the compliance with the speed limitations more rigorously.
He also added that the mass presence of the police officers on the streets of the island will help to reveal repetitive violators among the drivers.
He also added that together with the speed limits, police will be enforcing the regulations concerning the seat belt use and helmets of the bikers.
Cyprus apparently has quite a negative situation in comparison with the rest of the EU due to the large number of traffic accidents with lethal outcome.
