The Leader of Turkish-Cypriots Mr. Mustafa Akinci stated that the energy sector may become the uniting element for cooperation between the two communities of Cyprus.
According to him, the proper distribution of the natural resources will ensure the resolution of theCyprus problem. President Anastasiades, in turn, said that the provocative matter about gas extraction in the EEZ has not been discussed yet.
The negotiations resumed this week and leaders rejected the idea of a deadline, however agreed to meet four times after 20th of April.
In the meantime, the participants from both sides are preparing the ground for upcoming sessions. More specifically, matters concerning governance, immovable property, economy, territory and rights.
