The Cyprus Delegation led by the Archbishop Chrysostomos II has visited Damascus, where they met the leader of Syria and the representatives of the secular and religious authorities.
During their conversation, the President Bashar Assad stated that one of the primary goals of the terrorists fighting in Syria is to spread the radical ideology among the civilians in order to undermine the society.
In his response, Archbishop Chrysostomos said the European countries must urgently reconsider their policy towards Syria and to remove the economic sanctions.
