In accordance with the announcement made by the Department of electromechanical services, about 100 speed control cameras will be installed across the island by the end of the next year. The director of the Department Mr. Lucas Timotheou clarified that from the tender for installation and maintenance of the cameras will be announced in the middle of April.
In 2018 there will be 90 stationary and 20 mobile speed cameras.
The fines for speeding and jumping the traffic light can be paid at the police station or in the comfort of own home – via internet. There will also be possibility to appeal against the fine.
