On Saturda, 24th June at 10:00 electric vehicle rally operating on solar panels will be held in Nicosia. The Cyprus Institute is organizing Solar Car Challenge in Cyprus for the 8th year in a row and this time it will last for 3-4 hours.
In this regard, part of the streets of Nicosia city will be closed, in particular Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue, Georgiou Griva Digeni Avenue, Dimostheni Severi Avenue, and Vasilissis Freiderikis street.
Solar car is an experimental electric vehicle that uses the energy of the sun in the daytime, and at night it is using fuel, like ordinary cars.
Apart from Cyprus, the solar car rally is held annually in Australia, where it is called “brain sport”.
