After long delays in service of the trucks, the operation of the port returned to normal. Only after personal involvement of the President Anastasiades it became possible to persuade the truck drivers to stop their strike. After that, the 1120 were dispatched.
Mr. George Pouros, who is the head of the EUROGATE container terminal explained that the problem with the loading of containers was due to shortage of the special cranes- only 4 out of 11 were operational.
During the next few weeks EUROGATA plans to finalise the remaining repair works.
