More than 12,000 new trees were planted in the Solea region, which suffered from the forest fires in 2016. The Minister of Agriculture Mr. Nicos Kouyialis praised the forestry department and said that “forests form part of the national heritage, so it is very important to save and protect them for generations to come”.
Regardless of the government support, he encouraged the public to contribute to the development and protection of the forests.
