Entrepreneurs from Russia, who have been living in Cyprus for 10-15 years and have obtained Cyprus citizenship, have come up with the initiative to form a Russian political party in Cyprus.
The purpose of this initiative, according to businessmen, is to participate in the political life of the island, being able to vote in parliamentary and municipal elections, as well as being able to nominate candidates to be elected.
The application for registration of the Russian party was filed more than 10 days ago. According to the current legislations, the decisions should be announced within 30 days from the date of filing of the application.
