The results of the “European Night without accidents” have been published.
According to the published data, 80% of the drivers who decided to participate in this campaign had the alcohol content below the limit. In comparison with the last year, this number has increased by 3%. According to the President of the youth organisation of road safety, approximately 30% of the drivers, who participated in the campaign last year are not consuming any alcohol before driving.
During the last weekend from 22:00 until 05:00, a group of volunteers has organized the voluntary alcohol check near the night clubs of Larnaca, Limassol and Nicosia. Those, who had the level of alcohol above the limit were explained the dangers associated with that and those who did not exceed the limit have received small gifts.
This campaign is organised every third weekend of October.
