This is how the Minister of Transport Marios Demetriades made his promise to address the issues of the unloading of containers in the Limassol port. He added, however, that it will take some time.
During the meeting with the management of the container terminal, Minister discussed the delays in providing service to the ships and measures how to ameliorate the situation. Mr. Demetriades also pointed out that currently three out of four cranes are fully operational and that all ships will be unloaded.
The delay in the unloading created a queue of trucks in the Limassol port. Some drivers were waiting for unloading for 7 hours and were threatening to start a strike.
