The association of individuals with paralyzed extremities has sent a complaint to the Cyprus Tourism Organisation. Regardless of the relevant legislative provision, less than 5% of the hotel rooms are equipped to accommodate people with limited physical abilities. Overall, in each of hotels, there are not more than 3 suitable rooms. Therefore, organisation of conferences or any other mass events for such individuals is rendered almost impossible.
The Association argues that in case if the authorities will resolve such issues, the island will become a popular holiday destination for individuals with limited mobility all year round.
