Tomorrow the peace talks will resume on the island. The UN special Advisor Mr. Espen Barth Eide announced that the first issues that will be discussed are matters of governance, ownership and territory, as well as economy and freedoms of the EU.
In order to speed up the process and finish negotiations in June, the above points will be included in a single package. The matter of security will be discussed separately- at the special dedicated international Conference.
The experts are saying the Brussels will satisfy any requirement of the Turkish side about the equal rights of Turkish- and Greek-Cypriots on the island. Most likely, the EU will use Portugal or Kaliningrad model.
In Accordance with the EU and international law, the Kaliningrad model provides Russian citizens, who are living in the Baltic states the same rights as EU citizens.
