At the meeting in The Human Rights Committee, parents expressed they deep concern about the growing number of abduction and kidnapping cases.
29 children abduction cases were registered last year, mostly with the children coming from parents of mixed marriages.
Most of the kidnapped children are taken to the Arabic-speaking and former Eastern bloc countries. The situation is made worse by the fact that most of these countries have not signed The Hague Abduction Convention and legally are not obliged to cooperate with the EU.
