The Mayor of Paphos Mr. Phedon Phedonos met with the representative of the Japanese Association of Tourist Agencies (JATA). Due to the fact that Paphos will become the European capital of culture in 2017, the various opportunities to attract more tourists from Japan were discussed during the meeting.
The mayor of Paphos informed the Japanese representatives about the rich culture and tourist infrastructure of the city. He further added that Paphos combines three characteristics, which will help to attract Japanese tourists: the myth about Aphrodite, European capital of culture and Cyprus cuisine.
