The Cyprus Road police has registered over 1,000 traffic violations on the island. More than 500 drivers have exceed the allowed speed limits. Another 400 drivers were ticketed during the night from Friday to Saturday for minor violations. 561 drivers were tested for alcohol and 67 of those had excessive level of alcohol.
During the checks in the night clubs across Cyprus, out of 360 checked establishments, 121 violations were recorded with 12 of those being the infringement of the law concerning smoking in enclosed spaces.
