Instead of starting the lessons on time, the primary school teachers commenced them at 08:30. This is how they have supported the series of strikes across the island.
The Teacher’s Trade Union POED is protesting against the staffing problems and temporary work contracts. The Union also want to remind the authorities about the juvenile crime and ineffectiveness of the step to prevent it taken by the Ministry of Education.
The next cities which will go on strike are Paphos and Nicosia. The teachers are expected to strike on 7thof December.
