During the summit in Cairo, the President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades also had a private meeting with the Egyptian president.
The two leaders came to an agreement regarding communication, education, as well as mutual search and rescue missions. They have also discussed the matters of naval and air transport. The two countries also signed the relevant agreement concerning air transportation between the two states.
In accordance with that agreement, the air transportation can be done by several airlines. The number of routes is not limited. Additionally, the agreement lifts the restrictions for the flights from Cyprus to Cairo, Alexandria and eight other airports in Egypt.
