Within the framework of his visit to Israel, Defense Minister Christoforos Fokaides plans to meet with his colleague Avigdor Lieberman. In addition, the Minister will visit the inauguration ceremony of the Cyprus patrol vessel. The matter is that earlier, within the framework of the OPV project, the Republic ordered the construction of a ship from an Israeli company (Israel Shipyards Ltd).
By the end of 2020, Cyprus plans to expand the fleet with two more Israeli patrol vessels and patrol boats.
Recall that earlier the Navy of the National Guard of Cyprus also received another patrol ship for use – a gift from the Sultan of Oman.
