The Council of Ministers of Cyprus approved the Christmas bonus for the families with low income. According to the announcement by the ministry of Labour, an amount of 16,5 million Euros was allocated for the payments to the socially insecure and low-income families. In total, this financial help will be given to more than 7,000 families, which are on social benefits.
The payment will be 80% of the monthly needs of the family for December, calculated on the benefits received and minimum consumer basket.
Last year, the amount of 15,000,000 Euros was split among 35,000 families.
