London is ready to return parts of the territories occupied by the two military bases to Cyprus after the reunification of the island.
British High Commissioner Ric Todd, said that he has a positive attitude towards the settlement of the Cyprus problem and he is pleased with the activity and effort of the two leaders of Cyprus in the process of negotiations. He believes that it is beneficial to both the Greek Cypriots and the Turkish Cypriots, as well as to the region as a whole.
Of course, the British military bases will remain on the island due to its geographical position.
Todd has pointed out that military bases in Cyprus are of strategic importance and are advantageous not only for Britain, but for Europe as a whole.
