Regardless of the fact that Greece has been supporting the withdrawal of the occupational forces from Cyprus, this time it offered an alternative.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs suggested the sign the agreement “for Temporary presence” of the foreign military troops in Cyprus. The Minister also said that the Greek troops are legally present in Cyprus and the much more numerous occupational army is illegal.
In the meantime, the European version of Politico blamed the Greek Prime-Minister for “destroying the negotiations concerning Cyprus” and said that Kodzias will be removed from the conference for “unexpected” requirement to withdraw the Turkish occupational forces from Cyprus.
The government of Greece called the article as frivolous and unreliable.
