A strain of John Lennon’s hair was sold at the auction for 35,000 USD.
The item was purchase by a collector from the UK, whose name is not revealed. The starting price was 12,000 USD.
The lock of brown hair with the length of 10cm was cut in 1966 by a German hairdresser in Hamburg. Lennon was involved in the filming of “How I Won The War” in that city. The hairdresser who made the haircut for Lennon before the filming started kept the strain as a souvenir for almost 50 years.
Organizers of the auction claim that they possess evidence that this is the longest ever strain of hair of the Beatles’ leader ever sold on the auctions.
