The resolution of the Cyprus problem must take into consideration not only the interests of the two communities of the island – Greek and Turkish, but also of three minority groups. The above statement was made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece- Mr. Nicos Kotzias after his negotiations with his Turkish Colleague Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu. The minorities in question are Maronites, Latins and Armenians. Kotzias has pointed out that even though these are very small groups, yet they exist and they have their rights. The decision must be made in such a way, so that everyone’s interests will be secured.
From his side Mr. Çavuşoğlu has stated that the resolution of the Cyprus Problem must be decided on the referendum of both sides. Greece and Turkey must reach the relevant agreements, which will be accepted by both communities.
