According to the Cyprus Statistical service, the income from tourism in January went up by 22% in comparison with the same period last year, and reached the level of 35 million Euros.
This is explained by the growth in the number of tourists in January by 29%. Apparently, the income went up despite of the decrease in the mean length of a holiday, which decreased by 9,5 days.
The increase in the numbers also compensated the decrease in spending down to 60 Euros per person per day.
