Two men from Nicosia were arrested for using 14-year-old girl to transport 10 kilograms of tobacco through the checkpoint on the Ledra Street.
According to the police, the perpetrators were arrested when the girl has crossed the border coming from the so-called Northern Cyprus. The police officers noticed that she was carrying something in her hands to the car where two men were waiting for her.
Police officers conducted a search of the car and found more than 10 kilograms of tobacco, which was purchased on the Turkish side, as well as 400 Euros in cash.
Two men, aged 33 and 25, were apprehended due to suspicion in trafficking and storing of illegal products.
