The gas reserves found in the 11th block of the exclusive economic zone of Cyprus were lower than expected. This means that it is not yet necessary to talk about the commercial sale of gas. A corresponding statement was made by the Minister of Energy, Industry, Trade and Tourism, Yorgos Lakkotripis. Nevertheless, he added that the data obtained during the reconnaissance work can benefit from subsequent trial drilling.
Recall that the gas reserves in the field “Onisiphoros” found foreign companies Total and Eni. In accordance with the permissions received, they will continue drilling until October 15.
