Cyprus Fire service revealed its plans to operate certain fire stations 24/7. Fire stations of Nisou, Peristerona, Moniatis and Evrychou in Nicosia will be modernized and moved to new premises. To make fire stations operate 24/7 the number of employees will be also increased.
Another new station in the area of Vasiliko will be monitoring fire safety at the power plant, fuel storage and technical port.
Also, the firefighters’ training program abroad is likely to be expanded. The initiative will need to be approved by the Parliament and the Cabinet.
