The Cyprus police is concerned by the growing tendency to use mobile phones whilst driving. In-Cyprus reports that statistically, every hour, there are two drivers being fined for that violation.
The ministry of transport also announced the launch of informational media which warns about the dangers of using the mobile phone whilst driving.
The recent research, which was carried out by the students of the University of Nicosia, shows that 30% of the participants were using mobile phone on the highway, 45% whilst driving in the city and 14% were making selfies. 12% believe that the use of mobile phone whilst driving is not dangerous.
