The European Parliament voted in favor of the new rules concerning handling of the waste materials. According to the new legislation, by 2030 Cyprus and other EU countries will have to limit the landfill mass at 56% and increase the recycling of domestic waste up to 70%. The mean level of recycling across the EU is mere 44%.
