The President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan has apologized for the shooting down of the Su-24- according to the Russian media.
In his letter addressed to Vladimir Putin, the Turkish leader expressed his condolences for the death of the Russian pilot. Ankara also declared that it had no inentions to break up the relationship with Russia, because Moscow has always been a strategic partner of Turkey.
Last November the Russian jet fighter SU-24 was shot down by a Turkish interceptor 1km away from the Turkish border- in Latakia, Syria.
