The National Guard of Cyprus suggests to halve the service duration for soldiers in reserve, who have already completed the conscription period.
Therefore, they will be serving just 14 hours instead of 38. Due to the changes, the soldiers will no longer to sacrifice their work in order to complete the required time.
This change was made possible due to the employment of 3,000 soldiers on contractual basis.
