The drunk driver was caught for speeding.
According to the police reports, at around 17:30 on Sunday afternoon the police patrol has noticed a car which was moving on the Nicosia — Limassol highway at the speed of 141 km/h, whereas the permitted speed limit is 100 km/h. After the driver did not stop when he was directed to do so, the police started the chase.
The officers suspected that the driver was under the influence of alcohol, however the perpetrator refused to go through the alco-test and punched one of the policemen and consequently he was arrested.
Current he is expecting trial.
