On 25th of March from 20:30 to 21:30 millions, including Cypriots, have switched off the light in their homes in order to giver tribute to our planet and to attract attention to the problems of Global climate change.
The movement was also supported by the Municipalities of Cyprus. The environmental commissioner Mrs. Ioanna Panayiotou conducted the specialised themed event.
The Earth Hour is the international movement, which is organised by the WWF. This annual event is usually done in the end of March. This year, the national aim of the project is to reduce the use of plastic bags.
