The President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasides has sent a letter to the head of the European Commission Jean-Claude Junkers, where he described his position regarding the liberalization of the visa regime with Turkey.
The local media reports that Anastasiades has stated that before the commencement of the dialogue, it is necessary to comply with all of the requirements for the readmission and the Cyprus problem.
He also stressed that the government will be working to protect the interests of Cyprus.
Earlier the Head of the European Commission has stated that after the entry into force of the agreement between Turkey and the EU, the flow of migrants from Turkey has significantly decreased.
