Cypriot singer Hovig today will represent the island at the 62nd Eurovision international song contest in Kiev. Hovig will present a song called ‘Gravity’ written by the famous Swedish composer Thomas G: son (Gustafsson). The composer is also known for the hit ‘Euphoria’, written for Laurin, the winner of Eurovision 2012.
Tonight at the semi-final Hovig will share the stage with the representatives from Greece, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Australia and 12 other European countries. Eurovision fans can support participants and watch the live broadcast of the first semi-final on PIK TV channel at 10pm.
Traditionally, countries from ‘Big Five’ league – UK, France, Germany, Spain and the country hosting the content, are automatically qualified for the final.
Earlier, Ukraine has banned Russia’s representative to enter the Eurovision song contest due to political reasons.
