The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited Cyprus on Monday the 11th of July 2016 as the first country on his European tour.
According ServPRO, during a press conference with Mr. Ioannis Kasoulides, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus, he expressed his interest in forming stronger ties with Cyprus in the sector of energy and particularly in the fields of natural gas and renewable energy.
Commenting on the natural gas field of Cyprus and in the light of the approaching deadline on the 22nd of July 2016 for the official expressions of interest for the third licensing round, Sheikh Abdullah noted:
“We`ll be very delighted to share our experience with Cyprus, but also encouraging some of our companies to come and look at the opportunities here in Cyprus”.
Moreover, referring to Cyprus and the relationship the country has with the UAE, Sheikh Abdullah mentioned:
“Our relationship has been growing in a variety of areas, economical, trade, tourism, flights. We are very grateful that Cyprus was the first country that backed the UAE to get an access to the Schengen visa free movement, being the very first Arab country to have that privilege”.
