The representative of Cyprus government has stated that Nicosia will agree with the Turkey’s membership in the EU if Ankara will open up the ports and airports for Cypriot ships and airplanes.
The REGNUM agency has stated that the government official, who wished to remain anonymous, informed them that Cyprus has blocked 5 chapters in the negotiations between Turkey and the EU because Turkey was not ready to enter the customs union with the members and wouldn’t allow Cypriot ships and aircrafts to enter its ports.
Earlier Turkey demanded from Brussels to open the frozen 5 political chapters. Only in that Turkey was ready to enter into a deal with the EU to accept the illegal immigrant from the EU back in Turkey.
