In her report, Mrs. Leda Koursoumba (the children’s rights ombudswoman and commissioner on the legal issues) pointed out that according to her research, many kids among refugees, who live in Kofinou centre (Larnaca region) are complaining about the bad smells in the buildings and regular disagreements between the adults and ask more more food.
On the other side, kids are happy for the welcoming atmosphere in the state primary school.
She also stated that it is necessary to praise the efforts of the authorities, yet she put forward a list of suggestions. Among others, she proposed to provide free meals in schools and medical insurance for the kids.
