In the next few days, the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu plans to visit the so-called Northern Cyprus in order to resolve the Cyprus problem. During his visit, he plans to meet with the leader of Turkish Cypriots Mr. Mustafa Akinchi, as well as his colleague from the MoFA of the Northern Cyprus and also with the opposition leaders. The latter were openly criticizing Akinchi’s negotiation strategy.
The culmination of the negotiations concerning the Cyprus problem was Mustafa Akinci’s demonstrative leaving from the negotiations table. The tensions between the two sides were provoked by the decision of the Cyprus Parliament to commemorate Enosis in school.
