Last weekend was busy for Cyprus firefighters. On Friday, fire destroyed two cars in Limassol.
In Paphos, fire broke out on the field, damaging the farming irrigation system worth 10 thousand euro.
Police reported finding of flammable materials at the scene, which means that the fire was caused by deliberate arson.
On Sunday fire service got a call from Larnaka. The fire, believed to be caused by the overheated transformer, took more than 5 hours to extinguish.
Nicosia balcony barbeque accident led to the apartment catching fire. Due to the strong winds the sparkles from unattended barbeque flew into the neighbouring apartment setting the balcony furniture alight. Some tenants were slightly affected by smoke and were offered prompt medical assistance.
Cyprus Fire Service encourages citizens to be cautious and observe fire safety measures.
