According to the Interpol, the head of the crime investigation department in Limassol Mr. Ioannis Soteriades stated that the “chain of recent burglaries was done by an organised foreign group of criminals”. Due to the above, the Cyprus police joined forces with their colleagues from Europe in their efforts to track down the criminal gangs from the Eastern Europe.
Regardless of the fact that the number of patrols was consequently increased, Mr. Soteriades recommends to the public to remain cautious and inform the police about the suspicious activities and to refrain from posting the travel plans in social media.
