The Bank of Cyprus will sponsor the project of the local Institute of Neurology and Genetics, which is planned to be carried out over the next 3 years.
The donation amounting to 180,000 Euros will help the scientists to diagnose and research diseases by using the sequencing (i.e. reading) the DNA. The new generation technology will help to find diseases like cardiomyopathy, multiple sclerosis, certain types of cancer and aneurysms in very short period of time.
The Minister of Health Mr. Giorgos Pamborides stated that the institute is carrying out various projects, which are known across the world, for 26 years.
