Nicos Anastasiades believes that sanctions are not helping with the resolution of the existing problems between the EU and Russia. The President of Cyprus made the relevant declaration to the journalists after his meeting with the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov at the UN General Assembly.
The leader of Cyprus also added that he sees only one way to resolve the issues- it is the fulfillment of the Minsk Agreement.
The introduction of sanctions is an obstacle to the diplomatic negotiations, because the affected country introduces the similar sanction in return.
