The president said that his recent proposal to break the deadlock in ‘Cyprus problem’ negotiations is the only right decision to move forward.
He also added that he is ready for further discussions in peace talks, but would not accept conditions that could be unbeneficial for the future of the island. Still, the issue of safety and guarantees remains the main subject of a dispute, since Turkish side insists on military troops’ presence in Cyprus after the reunification.
Next meeting of the leaders of two communities with Espen Barth Eide will take place today.
