The Russian low-cost airlines “Pobeda” was fined for not installing video cameras in the cabin of their aircrafts. The CEO of the company has already stated that the company will appeal to this decision.
According to his words, the company has requested “Boeing” about the possibilities to install cameras and received the reply that it is currently impossible to proceed with the installations. According to Kalmikov’s estimations, installation of the relevant hardware will cost around 1 million USD for each aircraft.
Many airline carriers have expressed their concern with the new rules demanding the installation of video cameras in the cabin. They claim that this will result in enormous additional costs and therefore the ticket prices may rise.
